I come from a small town in northern Vermont- and when I mean northern, I mean on the border of Canada. Needless to say our population is not very large and not very diverse at all. We maybe have a total of 3 people in my high school that were something other then white. We never really even noticed that we were different, skin tone never mattered much to us up here. I suppose if we were to have an equal racial distribution things might be different, but racism is not a issue up here. It does surprise me that some schools may have separate systems for black children and white children. I find that concept hard to wrap my mind around, but its almost like I've been sheltered from it my whole life living somewhere where you hardly ever see someone of a different color. I don't believe you should be separated because of your skin color, we all bleed the same color blood, that should be all that really matters.
